I believe the song is originally titled My Peace I Leave With You. I changed it to I Leave My Peace With You because I thought it would be more fitting since that is the prominent line in the song. It is one of two on this album to be written from the perspective of Jesus speaking to us. It's still listed as the former on the album however. Incidentally the back cover of the album featured here is a pic of me and my dad in my Granny's kitchen in 1970. I still remember the moment that pic was taken by my mom. My dad had just finished shaving and I smelled the sweet fragrance of shaving cream.
lyrics
I leave my peace with you
Peace I leave with you
My peace I give to you
Not as the world gives peace
Give I unto you
Let not your heart be troubled
Neither let it be afraid
For I leave my peace with you
Peace that stills the wind
Will come to you again
Each time you seek my face
Or call out my name
Let not your heart be troubled
Neither let it be afraid
For I leave my peace with you
Peace that passeth all understanding
Is what I leave with you
Remember I am with you always
I'll always see you through
Peace that calms the storm
Will keep you safe from harm
Reach out your hand to mine
I yearn for your touch
let not your heart be troubled
Neither let it be afraid
For I leave my peace with you
Peace that passeth all understanding
Is what I leave with you
Remember I am with you always
I'll always see you through
Peace I leave with you
My peace I give to you
Not as the world gives peace
Give I unto you
Let not your heart be troubled
Neither let it be afraid
For I leave my peace with you
I leave my peace with you
